Dreams do come true!

Well, it was my grandma's lifelong dream to visit Hawaii. My grandfather was stationed at Pearl Harbor, when he was in the Navy, during the Pearl Harbor attacks. With all of the awful memories associated with that, he refused to ever go back. Hence, my grandmother never thought she would get there... until... Fairy god-mother Sandra arrived! Sandra is truly an angel in disguise and she planned (with my help) a surprise trip for Grandma to Hawaii! She was awesome! Now Grandma's health is not what it used to be, after all, she is 92! So, it took teamwork to get her around. Below are a few photos, of the many (because who knows when/if she'll get there again) that I took :) We truly made Grandma's year, and she declares that her trip to visit Hawaii was the sweetest and best thing that anyone has ever done for her. We made some life-lasting memories during that trip and I will cherish them forever!

This is at the Pearl Harbor Memorial Site! She loved this!

This is on the actual memorial, setting on top of the sunken Arizona Battleship.

I turned around when we were at a garden to this sight... hilarious! Grandma claimed she needed some exercise and Sandra claimed her feet hurt- and there you have it, the explanation :)

Atop a beautiful overlook, where Grandma got her first sighting of Diamond Head :) It was a beautiful day!

At the Dole Pineapple Plantation! Grandma declared everything, including the traffic/buildings/plants/ as beautiful... it was just beautiful! Sandra and I started a running count because it was such a repeated phrase, haha.

This is at a luau... she was in heaven! Especially since she had a beautiful orchid lei :)

Sandra's face is classic! She was grossed out by the cooked pig just taken from the underground oven, that we were all about to feast on!

Shave Ice from Matsumoto's! Both were in heaven! Grandma demanded truly Hawaiian flavors of mango, coconut, and guava in her shave ice!

She went swimming in Ko'Olina Lagoons! It was an adventure just getting her in the water... and then again, getting her out. While she was in there, she was like a little fish splashing and swimming about like it was nothing.

At Hanauma Bay, getting ready to snorkel! This awesome wheel chair was provided for us by the nature preserve- what a sight!

Walking around Waikiki :)

Atop the Pali Lookout! Grandma did not want her picture taken because her hair was a mess... that happens with 30 mph wind :)

The last night eating at "Top of the I" Yummy Italian food and beautiful scenery, the best way to end a dream vacation for Grandma! We all had an amazing time!
